Roe Halper is a professional fine artist working in pen and ink, low relief wood carvings, acrylic painting and clay sculpture.
According to Woody Klein’s book "Westport, Connecticut," Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke at Temple Israel on Friday night, May 22, 1964. Westport artist Roe Halper presented King with three woodcarvings, representing the civil rights struggle. He hung them proudly in the front hallway of his Atlanta home.
