John Clem Clark (1937- ) was born in Bend, Oregon. He has an animated, illustration-based style of painting. His paintings are straightforward and reflect aspects of American life and culture. Clarke began doing one-man exhibits in New York in 1968 and continuously exhibits around the world. His artwork has been shown widely including exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art, NY, Moore College of Art, MA and Harris Gallery, NY. He has traveled extensively around Europe, Mexico and trhe US and now resides in New York City. His works are in the private collections of the Akron Art Museum in Ohio, Dallas Museum of Art in Texas, Whitney Museum of Art in New York, The Museum of Modern Art in New York, Milwaukee Art Museum in Wisconsin and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in California.
