Joseph Costa was a veteran newspaper photographer. He died of pneumonia in Carmel, California. He was 84 years old and lived in Rockville Centre, L.I.. He was a founder and the first president of the National Press Photographers Association. His career spanned 60 years and began on the New York Morning World. He also lectured and was a staff member of The Daily News and of King Features Syndicate.
