Biography

Leona Frank was born in New York and lives in Westport, Connecticut with her husband, photographer Richard Frank, where they raised their two children. She graduated cum laude from Queens College, New York, earning a B.A. in Studio Art, having studied with Herb Aach, Robert Birmelin and John Ferren. She has completed her Master’s degree in Art Education. Leona’s representational still lifes are executed in acrylics. Her paintings are an integration of her interest in color, design and movement, and explore the relationships between two-dimensional patterns and three-dimensional objects. Leona’s work interprets the still life in a painterly, expressive style. She takes the viewer on an exciting visual journey into and around dynamic canvases of rich and vibrant color. Leona Frank’s paintings are included in numerous private and corporate collections. She has been chosen as a member of National Association of Women Artists, Connecticut Women Artists and New Haven Paint and Clay Club.
