Biography
Milton W. Bond, age 92, of Stratford, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport, the son of the late Wallace and Mary Bond, he had been a lifelong area resident. Mr. Bond retired following 30 years of service as a Tool Maker for Remington Arms in Bridgeport. He was a self-taught artist who did reverse glass painting for over 40 years. His critically acclaimed work has been shown worldwide including the Palace of Versailles, The American Museum in Bath, England, the Smithsonian Institute, the Fennimore House, Cooperstown, NY and the White House. He was a true master of his craft and one of the most successful reverse glass painters of all time. Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne Bond of Stratford; a son, James Bond of Omaha, NE; two nieces and two nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Richard Bond and two sisters, Mildred Foster and Ruth Bond.
